Ok wingman box
« on: October 08, 2017, 04:53:37 PM »
Can we have a box to give permission so someone who wants to wingman you can be denied if need be..
Under the current conditions if i wanted to find a person with my second account i could watch his her actions all day long with the wingman cammand on the map. And post any attacking buff or gv location to squadmates or countrymen.

+1  Cybro and the Bish (Jokers) have gone to far with all the steam accounts it's just too easy now!   Other games do not have this problem!

Mouse over should also be disabled in the MA.  Might aswell disable cross country channel text / voice aswell.  Fog of war and all that.

-1 unless it is optional.   The wingman command sometimes breaks and a rejoin is needed.  Repetitive OK boxes would be a PITA.

-1.  There are good uses for it; contacting other pilots headed for the same target so you don't hit the same thing, for example.  Why change something for everyone over an allegation a couple players are misusing it via second accounts?  If that's the road to go down, then what... disable radar next?

Then they can just accept your request, or even have the option automatically allowed as an Options check list just like stall limiter.

See above comment about it being an option. Conversely why should it be allowed to be abused be a minority of people who's fun derives from systematically ruining someone else's gameplay.

I was commenting on the suggestion to disable mouseover in the MA.  I wasn't commenting on the suggestion to make the wingman thing optional.  There was no option offered as far as mouseover goes; the suggestion was to simply turn it off, and I think that would be a mistake.  Only a tiny fraction of players would try to exploit it while at the same time many players find it beneficial, even useful.  A cheater would only find another way to exploit some facet of the game, then it would be let's change something else most people use but could be exploited.  There would never be an end to that.

The gist of this thread seems to be using game parameters (or rather, crippling them) in order to make it difficult for someone who cheats by using a shade account.  I don't believe there are that many people doing that, and if they do, I couldn't care less.  I know I don't, I never will, and if I learned somebody was I wouldn't even fly in the same sector as them.  I believe part of the game is having to figure things out, like where a CV might be, things like that.  If someone has to resort to cheating in order to find that out, I feel sorry for them.  All they're doing is admitting they lack the talent or ability to play the game the way it's supposed to be played and they can only "win" by using some method to cheat.

Obviously that would have to be made an option too otherwise the same goal could be accomplished.

Well not to themselves obviously.

I feel sorry for them.

That won't last long. Trust me on this one.

Well it's how I've felt since I first started playing AH.  There were accusations then of people gaming the system or cheating by some means or other, just like there are today.  I just don't worry about it anymore.  If they do that, it doesn't impact me or how I try to play because I have no problem moving to another front if I suspect that is going on (which is a VERY rare thing, btw).  I know there are players who constantly harp on and on about this stuff in game, and I tune them out as well.  I'm here to relax and have a good time, I'm just not interested in all that drama when most of it is un-provable anyway.  If someone has to resort to multiple accounts to find me or know what I'm up to, then great.  I can sleep well at night knowing I'm able to play for half the price it costs them.  :D

I think it's an easy thing to learn fairly quickly who the usual suspects are and just avoid them.

Or add it to the options so I never have to do it at all.  "Enable Wingman Confirmation Box."

Yeah you can do that. Or just incorporate two optional features to lock out a known game exploit.

The problem can no longer affect me anyway. Just have first-hand experience of it.
