Yes JunkyII, I do recall more of the single "ping" sound prior to critical damage, but this has been the case since the implementation of the fmod sound system, or so I thought.
It could be simply a coincidental lucky hit, or even a mislabeled sound event, but it shouldn't hurt to ask if others are having similar experience and not be mistaken for conspiracy theory (my words, not anyone else's).
But then again, that is the kind of tough love we have come to "touche" then sit and wait for the perfect chance to "counter parry" and "riposte" a witty strike, while avoiding crossing the boundaries of the bulletin board hammer.
I must admit, I was amused at the responses.
