I believe I've seen more VH camping in AHIII than at any time before. I watched a new player get killed spawning in at least 10 times at a V-base before I could explain to him what was happening. He logged off.
That is just one example, as this is not an isolated issue. There are now a number of players who seem to specialize almost exclusively in rolling onto V-bases, de-acking the few guns required to do so, and camping hangers. This was significantly harder to do in AHII but is now quite easy to do in AHIII, even against opposition.
The current configuration of the 1-mile V-base makes it particularly vulnerable. If a single enemy tank gets into a certain camping position there, the base is essentially shut down. Again, this was not true in AHII, as the camping positions could be hit from several manned guns. It now takes almost constant vigilance to keep your spawn hangers from being camped in AHIII and there are certain blind spots where even manned guns can't deal with it.
Some suggested fixes are:
1) Turn the spawn VH around so vehicles spawn facing outward, facing away from the field, giving them a fighting chance to deal with a camper. (This provides the added gampe play benefit at the 1-mile V-base that a vehicle will have to actually maneuver to defend the maproom. Currently you sit in tower waiting for the troops, spawn in and start shooting the maproom before you even fully leave the spawn hanger.)
2) Re-configure some of the guns and trees on the V-base so the rear of the VH can be defended from a single camper.
3) Make all 4 vehicle hangers spawnable by breaking the Hanger spawn button into 4 parts numbered 1-4. Part 2 of this wishlist item would be to make any destroyed hangers not spawnable, so destroying a single VH actually has an effect on gameplay.
Just my two cents on addressing some camping and VH gameplay issues.
