Hey yall!

Alright, so, any ideas for scenarios to crank up? Or, am I not privledged enough to ask this since I'm not a "member of the community" yet?

Arlo, I'm already putting down your vote...

Post any ideas you might have to the Special Events forum ( http://www.hitechcreations.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=forum&f=7  ). banana and Daddog are always looking for new ideas.

Also check the "events" page on the HTC website for what's happening now.

So...players don't design and run scenarios here on their own?

Yeah, but I was asking this because Iwanted to design a scenario. Me giving an idea and see someone else not use it or see it fail, jsut doesnt give me much enjoyment  ;)

In case you was wondering my credentials, I designed Operation Pedestal which played on AW last month.

Your best bet then is to get in touch with banana or Daddog. banana is the Lead CM and in charge of Scenarios. Daddog is in charge of the Weekly Events.

The CM waiting list is a mile long and apparently there are a limited (exact quantity unknown) number of slots. I think we're better off working up stuff and submitting it .... and resubmitting it. And hoping it gets run the way we envisioned it, Cousin Aub.

Hell, the scenario I want to see doesn't even have the planeset or terrain available yet. What are the odds of drumming up support amongst this crowd without having something to sample and whet their appetites?

 Catch 22. Whoa!  ;)

Arlo-

Calm down. If you give the Scenario team half a chance you will find they will accept almost any ideas. I haven't been around for a while, but there were different levels of scenarios, ranging from mini, one-day affairs to the full blown, several week, must-sign-up affairs.

See that flashing banner at the top of the BBS? check out the link. Also, hit the scenario forums and start posting the ideas. Don't take a defensive posture for no good reason.

Not being defensive at all. Just realistic. The scenario I've been working on for years requires at least 6 planes modeled (preferably 12) that your average sim pilot doesn't get a woody over. The chances of them ever being considered are nil unless some interest can be seen.

That's where I was for years over there. That's where I am over here.  :)

So .... I work up maps, plans, tactics, strategy. I research and study, collect as much data as I can.

And I share it with as many as will listen.

 :D

You have two different lobbies going then- the lobby to the community for your concept, then in turn the lobby to HTC to build the planes you need.

The only thing I noticed was Aub's defensive stance that said "can I post this since I am not an official member of the community?" Dripping with sarcasm as it was, I thought perhaps someone had told him something to make him beleive the scenario team was uncooperative, something they most certainly aren't. I mistakenly addressed the response to you, and I apologize.

Dangit, did it again.

No need to apologize, my friend. You obviously get where I'm coming from. < S >

That stim's (sp) from one of Rotor's threads where someone told him he wasn't qualified to complain/give ideas/etc.. as he wasn't a "member of the community" as he had only been playing a few days.

Exile, if I was ready for the Events Team, I see no easy way to contact them.

May I suggest a form on your website to list future events? This form should include User Name, Email, Idea, When, etc. etc. If you have any questions you should contact Vanessa "Dawn" Edwards. She was the former head of the Events Team over at AW before EA let her go.

She ran the department very well, and, she would be 99% likely to help you in any way  :)

I'm sure you will enjoy your time in AH but we are used to each other and if some new guy walks in and starts banging his mouth... well you know.
It's up to you what kind of reputation will you have in AH.

btw If your sig says "UBB Suck" my guess is you are talking about this UBB and in that case it's not a good start imho. At least I like this UBB  :)
