Clouds keep appearing/dissapearing

For some reason the clouds in the arena suddenly appear and then dissapear, I have heard other taking notice of this as well.

Some clouds seem to do this, others not.  I've had them suddenly pop into view right in front of me on multiple occasions the last couple of days.

There is a setting for clouds called alpha fade in which has a timer, I left it at the default for the weather I created for all terrains in the MA. I'm not sure if the function of that sets a long creation period for clouds to morph into fully formed entities. I will need Hitech to make a comment on that here. If it does control what is being complained about, I'll be happy to run some experiments and report the results to Hitech towards adjusting clouds in the MA.

I never completed the alpha fade in time. I assume they are simply seeing the clouds being created?

I was getting a fade in/fade out of focus on the new map which made it extremely difficult to remain focused.  The clouds were constantly going from fuzzy to sharp back to fuzzy constantly.

I've never experienced that.  The only thing I've ever seen in terms of popping clouds is when I was in F3 view in bombers I was one second in a clear area of skies, then clouds "poofed" into view, extending basically from just in front of my planes outward.  It would be what you might expect to see if you had ground object visibility set to 150yrds... objects seem to pop up right in front of you, and with the clouds, once popped even the clouds miles away are now in view. 

I don't know if that's how it is supposed to work or not, just reporting what I experienced.  If it does work that way, it's not a big deal to live with, just looks very unusual.

Hitech, I think what he is describing is at a certain distance from clouds a portion of them blurs into large pixillations, then either jumps to sharp focus because the plane is moving closer or begins to disappear from increasing distance. I've gotten used to it now and ignore it.

Yes, this is exactly it. It was a completely clear sky and then suddenly: Clouds! They have dissapeared on occasion the same way as well.

I set the weather cycle for MA terrains to 1 hour on, 10 min rest, then repeat. They do kind of pop out at you or just disappear at the ends of the cycle.
