Are you sure you were in a B26? One of the B25's is a divebomber and has a black screen instead of a bombsite.

Both straffer noses for the B25C allow you to toggle F6 and see nothing but black. The B25H has no F6 toggle response. I tested the B26 and the F6 bombsight is there.
