100% a good idea
Intentionally kicking players to desktop is not good. It's probably one of the reasons we lose half or more of the players after many arena resets.
A "Rooks Won The War - Resetting Map" message with an "OK" button that sends them to the arena list is a good idea.
Also change "Closed" to "Loading" for the arena list. It may be a good idea to have a short timed refresh of the list, so that Loading will change to the pop numbers when ready. Perhaps refresh the arena list every 60 seconds or so?
