Fields of fire
« on: November 16, 2017, 04:29:22 PM »
Any base commander knows his guns need clear fields of fire ... we have too many obstacles in front of the stationary guns ... trees being the most annoying. Perhaps a 500 yard unobstructed field of fire might do it. IDK, just a suggestion.

This I agree with, if for no other reason than the common sense factor.  The 500 yard to 1K yards around the bases, in my opinion, should be free of trees and other obstacles.
Makes no sense to have so many trees and bushes on the bases.  Had a tank on base this morning, I could see him, but a group of trees was between us, and while it looked like I could and should be able to fire between the tree trunks, all I got were big explosions in the tops of the trees.
Give the base defenders clear lanes of fire to actually defend their bases, eliminate the bushes and trees that GV'ers use to practically drive onto base without being seen.

Yup.  Whenever I setup defensive positions, field AND view for fire control was more important than just having defensive position.  A lot of good it would do to setup a row of trenches against a hill where you can't see squat 500 yards out to where you were to defend. We sometimes put defensive positions back inside the perimeter just because we could't see effectively against potential incoming threats to effectively defend our compounds.
