Horble's Insane Never-Gonna-Happen Plane Wishlist
« on: December 03, 2017, 03:31:48 AM »
There's a lot of planes I'd love to see in game, most of these probably wouldn't be super popular MA rides but would be great for fleshing out gaps in special events.

I. Dewoitine D.520

Maximum speed: 560 km/h (302 kn, 347 mph)
Range: 1,250 km (675 nmi, 777 mi)
Service ceiling: 10,000 m (33,000 ft)
Rate of climb: 14.3 m/s (2,820 ft/min)

1 × 20 mm Hispano-Suiza HS.404 (60-round drum) cannon
4 × 7.5 mm (0.295 in) MAC 1934 (675 rpg) machine guns

Around 900 produced.  Great for a Fall of France event.  Also a cool plane I want to fly.

II. Nakajima Ki-44-II Hei

Maximum speed: 605 km/h at 5,200 m (376 mph at 17,060 ft)
Cruise speed: 400 km/h at 4,000 m (249 mph at 13123 ft)
Stall speed: 150 km/h (93 mph)
Service ceiling: 11,200 m (36,750 ft)
Rate of climb: 5,000 m--4 min 17 sec (3,940 ft/min)

Four 12.7 mm (.50 in) Ho-103 machine guns, two in the nose and two in the wings.

Used in China, Burma, The Phillipines, Korea, and in defense of Japan. 1220 produced, 420 of which were the Ki44-II Hei.
More Japanese planes is always good, IMO.

III. Mitsubishi J2M3

Maximum speed: 596km/h (370 mph, 322kt) (@5450m)
Range: 1467 km (912 nmi, 795 mi)
Service ceiling: 11,430 m (37,500 ft)
Rate of climb: 1402 m/min (4,600 ft/min)

2x Type 99-2 inboard wing-mounted 20x101mmRB cannon with 190 rpg
2x Type 99-1 outboard wing-mounted 20x72mmRB cannon with 210 rpg
2× 60 kg (132 lb) bombs or 2 × 200 L (53 US gal) drop tanks or single larger central drop tank

671 J2M's produced.  Would be great to have this Japanese Interceptor for late war Pacific events.  But if we get these Japanese planes we should also get..

IV. Bristol Beaufighter

I don't have to put the info here, it's the Beaufighter.  C'mon, it was used everywhere.  For everything.

V. Lavochkin-Gorbunov-Gudkov LaGG-3

Maximum speed: 575 km/h (357 mph)
Range: 1000 km (621 mi)
Service ceiling: 9,700 m (31,825 ft)
Rate of climb: 14.9 m/s (2,926 ft/min)

2× 12.7 mm (0.50 in) Berezin BS machine guns
1× 20 mm ShVAK cannon
6× RS-82 or RS-132 rockets up a total of 200 kg (441 lb)

6,528 produced.  The precursor to the LA5+LA7.  Not an incredibly great plane by all accounts but would be awesome for early Eastern Front events.

VI. Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3

Maximum speed:
At sea level: 505 km/h (314 mph; 273 kn)
At 7,800 m (25,600 ft): 640 km/h (398 mph; 346 kn)
Combat range: 820 km (510 mi; 443 nmi)
Service ceiling: 12,000 m (39,400 ft)

1 × 12.7 mm Berezin UB machine gun
2 × 7.62 mm ShKAS machine guns in the cowl
6 × RS-82 rockets
2 × 100 kg (220 lb) bombs

3,400 produced.  Look, a Soviet plane that's great at altitude!  Too bad it wasn't great at low altitude where the fighting actually was, but I'd love to try it out high up in the MA.  Also great for Barbarossa and early Eastern Front events.

VII. Ilyushin Il-4

Maximum speed: 410 km/h (255 mph; 221 kn) at 6,500 m (21,325 ft)
Range: 3,800 km (2,361 mi; 2,052 nmi) (max internal fuel), 2,600 km (1,404 nmi; 1,616 mi) with 1,000 kg (2,200 lb) bombs
Service ceiling: 8,700 m (28,500 ft)
Time to altitude: 13.6 min to 5,000 m (16,404 ft)

Guns:2 × 7.62×54mmR ShKAS machine guns (1 in nose, 1 in ventral hatch)
1 × 12.7×108mm UBT machine gun in dorsal turret
Rockets: 2 × BETAB-750DS 305 mm rockets.[11]
Missiles: 1 × 940 kg (2,100 lb) Type 45-36 torpedo[10]
Bombs: Up to 2,700 kg (6,000 lb) of bombs or mines.

5,256 produced.  Could be subbed for the DB-3 which it was an upgraded version of.  Would be great to have an earlier Soviet bomber so B25's don't keep having to be used in every event.

VIII. Dornier Do 217M

Maximum speed: 557 km/h at 5,700 m (347 mph at 18,700 ft)
Cruise speed: 400 km/h (248 mph)
Range: 2,145 km (1,332 mi)
Service ceiling: 7,370 m (24,180 ft (with max bombload))

4 × 7.92 mm (.312 in) MG 81 machine guns in nose and lateral positions
2 × 13 mm (.51 in) MG 131 machine guns in dorsal and ventral positions
Max Load 4,000 kilograms (8,800 lb) internally & externally.
Max Internal Load 3,000 kilograms (6,600 lb).

Would be great to have a German bomber more modern than the Ju88 for the Main Arena and events.  Getting stuck in 88's during a 1944 FSO is rough.  This should be less rough (slightly).

There is the 188 as an alt to the 217.  I believe it was better than the 217(?). :headscratch:

Wow I find it hard to believe it has been almost 38 days since our last path. We should have release another 38 versions by now  :bhead

Either one would work for me.  I just went with the 217 because there were more of them produced (I think).

Yup.  Have always missed the J2M3 from WBs.  All of those look good.

Also, we need more Italian stuff so the G55 as well.

I hope they get to all of them once they're done with the existing plane redos.

Wiley.
If you think you are having a 1v1 in the Main Arena, your SA has failed you.

Rate of climb: 15.3 m/s (3,030 ft/min)

2× 12.7 mm (.5 in) Breda-SAFAT machine guns, 370 rpg

Range: 2,600 km (1,615 mi)

Yep. We need all of them. +1

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

+1 on the Beaufighter and G.55 - the rest can wait until all the current rides are up to AH3 standards.

No love for the Aussies and their CAC Boomerang?
The real problem is anyone should feel like they can come to this forum and make a wish without being treated in a derogatory manner.  The only discussion should be centered around whether it would work, or how it would work and so on always in a respectful manner.
