This has probably been wished for in the past.

May even be worth a trial in the MA with announced V1 AI automated launches against the strats giving people time to intercept. Not sure how the scoring would go though.

This would serve as the only reason to add the Meteor.

I've got a V-1 and V-2 base terrain on the list for the AvA.  It would be neat if they could launch.

Why?  Did the Meteor engage them?

The V2 was a ballistic rocket and there was no way to stop it. However the V1 was a flying buzzbomb and while challenging depending on the circumstances was often missing the target or intercepted.

I put forth an idea some years back that I think has merit. We need V1 launch sites like shore batteries. Terrain tile pieces around which combat can be set up. They can be aimed like a ship gun, click on a map and fire it, but they have a very long reload (5-10 minutes?) time and only one every so many sectors.

They would launch a pre-programmed "dumb" V1 buzz bomb and it would fly to target and then nose dive into the ground with whatever damage should be applied for a bomb of that size. That would allow it to be intercepted and shot down, and also allow for human error in targetting and programming them (because that happened a lot in the war too). And if you click the center of an enemy field's town, for example, and that's already been bombed by a JABO over target? Well you don't get anything for it and have to wait for reload.

I really think something like that would add some depth to the game, add some fun, some options, spark some fights (jabo treetop runs to try and hunt down the launchers and take them out, etc) but also give some use for FSOs and scenarios.

Why?  Did the Meteor engage them?

"The Meteor was initially used to counter the V-1 flying bomb threat. 616 Squadron Meteors saw action for the first time on 27 July 1944, when three aircraft were active over Kent. These were the first operational jet combat missions for the Meteor and for the Royal Air Force. After some problems, especially with jamming guns, the first two V1 "kills" were made on 4 August. By war's end, Meteors had accounted for 14 flying bombs. After the end of the V-1 threat, and the introduction of the ballistic V-2 rocket, the RAF was forbidden to fly the Meteor on combat missions over German-held territory for fear of an aircraft being shot down and salvaged by the Germans."

They wouldn't be accurate enough to be worthwhile.

Tempests, Mosquitos and Meteors would engage V1s.  It was actually considered safer to try and get up next to it and get your wing tip under the bomb and flip it off course to land in the channel than shooting at it, as the explosion could consume the plane shooting as well.

Spits did, too.  I believe the third ranked squadron in V-1 kills flew the Spit XIV.

Out of 1954 V-1s successfully intercepted, 16 were destroyed that way. P-47s and P-51s were also used for V-1 intercept missions. The most successful (highest number of 'kills') were the Tempests (638), followed by the Mosquitos (623), followed by the Spit XIV (303), followed by the Mustang (232). All other types account for 158.

(9,521 V-1s were launched. All launches occurred after D-Day.)
