Easily the best looking of the three RAF 4-engined heavy bombers.

The Lancaster is better in just about every way to the Halifax. The Halifax was a less sophisticated design and while on paper it seemed like they might be similar, it had a much lower practical ceiling, a slower speed, and generally might round out the RAF bomber fleet by keeping a large bombload with a lesser-performing envelope. Plus it would add variety.

IMO the Wellington and the Halifax would be the top two bombers to add to the RAF at the moment. Neither one is really great performance wise, though.

 The Bristol Hercules engine were a much better plane than the earlier merlin engine planes and as far as reality is concerned Halifax's alt of 24,500 feet is comparable in daylight bombing effectiveness to the Lanc.

As similar to a completely different aircraft as is possible, and the other aircraft is already in game.

In reality the Halifax was easier to bail out of, crew having about a 33% higher survival rate when their aircraft was shot down.

On the other hand the Halifax had about a 33% higher loss rate per sortie than did the Lancaster.

Translating to AH, the first point is not modeled in any way or relevant in any way, while the second point likely means the Halifax would be modeled as significantly less durable than the Lancaster is.

All in all, given the high amount of work needed to model bombers, there are better places to put this effort such as the H8K2, He177 or even P.108.

 Just to add to the last comment. The Halifax was a far better airplane than the He 177,  or the p108. and the Kawanishi  Didn't even have wheels did They? And only carried about 2.5 tons Ords.
