This would go a lot faster if you two just whipped em out and grabbed a ruler.  :old: :old:

Regarding the OP... it is truly a sad state of affairs when the youth of today can't accept that a game is a game. I hate to use the word 'entitled' because it seems to get thrown around a lot when describing millenials, undeservedly. There are many bad eggs in the carton, and they always seem to stink the most. I hope the two "gamers" get punished, but mostly the idiot that actually started the process of the swat raid. I hope the officer that pulled the trigger learns to live with his decision and that it doesn't haunt him forever.
Your age group raised these millenials....you are the reason for it, they were raised by your generation.

Every generation was raised by the previous generation. I guess that's how blame was invented and personal responsibility was avoided. Or maybe it's a regional/social circle/fad thing because it never occurred to me and my friends to try that when we were growing up. ;)

As a 23 year old millennial with no children of my own, I beg to differ.

Though your aim is misguided, your point stands to an extent. The generation that raised mine certainly did not do us justice, but there comes a point when the parents can no longer take responsibility for the actions of their children.

To blame an entire generation for the sweeping generalization of the entire next generation is simply put, pretty dumb.

While the guy who called in the fake threat is terrible and should be put away for a long time. Is this another time where maybe the cops shouldn't have shot first and asked questions later? The guy was unarmed.

From an outside view it's almost like your police are an occupying military force dealing with a hostile civilian population. I know it's a generalization and I'm sure it's not like that everywhere.

The more urban the area, for the most part (though there have been exceptions).

I agree Vulcan.  When the police even in their reporting use the word 'civilian' in the place of 'citizen' it lends itself to the outside view at least, as a militaristic relationship between police and the populace they serve.

Being ex military and ex police it is an appropriate view. A product unfortunately since the 60's. The prevalent use of ex military hires to police forces without adequate decompression time from military transition and training to differentiate from the military 'enemy' view of 'civilians'.

My opinion from both sides of the fence anyway.

On edit: it was an easy observation to me to see the parallel views as a grunt dealing with the military terminology such as 'slopes, dinks, gooks'  and in the police shift briefing room transition to 'scumbags, scrotes, punks'.

Well you really can't say this is a thing only millenials do, prank calls of this nature have been going on before millennials , just the methods have changed. Millennials are no different, than the generation that raised them.
Also no matter the incident that sparked it, the officer was still wrong to shoot an unharmed man, even though he was reaching, there was no weapon.

Thank cod our community is smarter and more responsible than this.^

A lot of you live in a dream world and must not see a lot of the comments on 200, heard about a lot of people's arrests, ect ect ect. Aces High is just as bad then any gaming community, just has a lot smaller number.

Name one AH player that has been arrested for Swatting, calling in bomb threats or any terroristic threat against another player or HTC.

While there are some toxic players (like yourself), this community is far more tame than the majority of online games.

he was reaching, there was no weapon.

He was shielding himself from the light that they put in his face. He couldn't see and was probably confused about what was going on. There is also no way he could have heard that officer being so far away and speaking so softly.

They should have confirmed if he had a weapon or not. With that light in his face there is no way he could make an accurate shot if he had a gun.

Terrible incident.

Blaming one generation for the purported faults of another?  Such a broad spectrum of scapegoating.  Personally, I prefer to be a little more specific like blaming religious or ethnic groups, it works better for me.  :noid

Also, judging by how this thread is going...

Was there one player that send a threat letter to another player?  Or something along that.
