Calibrating CH Fighterstick with Win 7
« on: January 27, 2018, 10:18:47 AM »
I can't recall how to calibrate with Windows. By selecting game controllers in Devices & Printers, it promps CH Control Mgr. --which I use occasionally. How do I calibrate with Windows?

Pretty sure you HAVE to use control manager to calibrate the CH stuff. Just make sure you have any mapping profiles switched to "off" up at the top or calibrating won't take. I'm still using the CH throttle with win7/64 and that's how I'm doing it. My crosswinds pedals want to be calibrated with their software, my VKB stick, theirs.

Control Panel (>Hardware and Sound) > (View) Devices and Printers should show your gear. Right click your controller and choose Game Controller Settings, click Properties > Settings tab > Calibrate.

Titles in parentheses are for the default view, the rest is for small/large icon view.

At which point I click Properties under Game Controller Settings, a box opens saying to calibrate using CH Control Manager," calibration via Windows calibration applet is not supported".

I know I calibrated using the control mgr & Windows not all that long ago. Does it matter if I only use the control manager?

Thanks

Apparently the CH Control Manager supersedes the Windows applet.

If you've installed Control Manager you will have to use the CM calibration applet to calibrate.

If you have not installed a control manager, then simply go to Start->Run, then type "joy.cpl", press <ENTER> and go from there.

I have had CH products for years and do not use the Ch Control Manager software. I do all my Calibrating in Aces High. The CH Control Manager software is terrible. I have never had any problems not using it.

I quit using it many years ago.... Just use windows and then AH to calibrate then AH to map all the controllers and analog & digital inputs ....

I wish they never removed the onboard memory from the CH products when they switched from gameport to USB
