A lesser known aspect of Luftwaffe operations on the Eastern Front were the actions of the international squadrons using aircraft loaned by the Luftwaffe and attached to standard Luftwaffe fighter groups. Jg 52's 13th squadron was an all Slovak unit which was attached to II Gruppe/Jg 52 from October 1942 until the fall of 1943. Initially equipped with 109E's, the unit struggled to achieve success. But early in 1943, they received current G-2 and G-4 model 109's and quickly began to rack up victories over the Soviet forces in the Kuban region with 154 confirmed kills by July and 215 in total. The squadron's top ace was 24 year old Jan Reznak with 32 confirmed victories.
This skin represents a plane that Reznak achieved 7 of those kills with. "Yellow 9" features the colors of the Slovak flag on the spinner and cowling with non-standard camouflage, both common features of SLovak 109's.
