Sometimes Youtube comes through also - in part 1 of this video, the driver says they hit 35mph on the open road.

Part 2 has the nice shift sequence though.

ugh....double clutch... I remember those days. The old Deuce we drove in the military were like that. Then automatic heaven happened with the new cargo 5-ton. You could light your smoke AND drive at the same time.

Visible troops in the back would be cool, especially if a strafe w/ .30 cals meant the m3 showed up in town with < 10 troops or reduced object/ gv supplies.

The better armor on the German half track would be useful if this was a feature.

Cool wish that isn't needed.

This would be of more value in advertising and filming than it would in-game in my opinion... Plus it seems to be alot of work for a "paint job" of eye candy.

I may be missing something, but why do you want to see a box in the back? or 10 boxes of vehicle supplies....

Even though it's a cool wish, I think there's more value in placing parked aircraft on the field to "vultch" alongside the field ack..

BUt that's what's cool about wishes, everyone can have them!  :salute

Dubious,

I get your point, but using your logic, Why would you want to see bombs or Drop tanks hanging from a plane?

Me,

I'm a Plane guy, and I like to see what is hanging under me (or at least be able to have a wingman say, "Hey Rodent57....Did you mean to have a drop tank instead of bombs like everyone else in the flight?")

I think Oboe's idea has merit ... and it MIGHT save me from dragging Airfield Cargo to a town when I had meant to have troops.   (and please spare me the claims that others have never inadvertently messed up their load outs...because it simply happens a fair amount)

All that said, I'd rather see the GV DAR get programmed back out of the game than see the German troops in the half track....

Reading through this thread again gave me another idea.  Plus the fact that troops sometimes are skinned as snowmen, or skeletons - I assume as a nod to current holidays of Christmas or Halloween, which is a little feature that hasn't failed to make me smile.

I'd like to be able to select different troop skins in the hangar where I select vehicle loadout (or alternatively, as a setting under player preferences).   I'd like to be able to choose between U.S., German, British, Russian, Japanese, Italian, Autralian, Finnish, etc troop skins, and the troops could shout something appropriate in their own language as they jump out of the C-47 or M3 - like "Banzai!", "Angriff! Angriff!",  "Urah!", or "God Save the King!", etc.
