I just read that some plant-louses clone themselves all summer long into ginormous quantities until some time at fall they'll find a male for the sole purpose of fertilizing eggs for the next summer. Then they die.

Super sad. There is so many dogs in shelters looking for a good home... mind you this dog will only look like her old dog. It will not behave or have the same personality as the previous dog.

She was hoping for a similar personality.  She says they do not have similar personalities.  At least she's honest about it having failed.

As to the shelter dog, you know that was never on the table here.  It was this, or a purebred puppy from a breeder, most likely a reputable one.
