Paddle Props on D11s'
« on: March 26, 2018, 06:20:20 PM »
Our D11 Jugs need paddle props.  They were installed in field.  Gabreski flew a paddle propped D11 (installed in the field).  D11s' soldiered on into WWII for a long time.  They got paddle props.

Historically  in the 43 to 44 range the D11 was still in widespread use.  Or...............at least give us a D23.  Almost same time frame.

I like this option much better. It allows event designers to use the correct model when applicable.

Devil you are quite correct.  In some events we were forced into using the D11 to disadvantage knowing their were updated models of the D Series that were in service at that time.

Either would be fine with me.  This wish would certainly help future events be more accurate, and also add a craft to the P47 line that a lot of us virtually fly.

Razorback models jugs flew in action till the end of the war. In the beginning of 1944 they were being retrofitted with the paddle blade prop and all new models came out of the factory with it, till D-25 which was the first bubble canopy jug (June 1944 IIRC). The most common, most significant kind of p47s were razorbacks with paddle blade props.

Give us D-23 (razorback with paddle blade prop and wing hard points), that will do just fine to represent all retrofitted and later razorbacks.
