HT-Pyro Band of Brothers Question
« on: September 10, 2001, 12:34:00 PM »
HT-Pyro,I watched the first 2 segments of Band Of Brothers Sun.night and enjoyed the part where many, many C-47s were over France and getting hit by acks and some blowing up or breaking in half.I thought it had to be computer generated since that many C-47s do not exist anymore. While reading the credits at the end,it said that planes were supplied by "Aces High".Which leads to my question.Did you do that or is there another Aces High Company ? Whoever did it was great.

Well it sounds like somebody has a company named "Aces High".  HTC's product is called AH, but the company is "Hitech Creations".

I bet the "Aces High" company has a few real birds, and they take footage of those and use the computers to turn it into hundreds of planes.

I saw it also.  When they were all up and the “camera” showed how many C47’s there were I had to laugh.  It reminded me of Rips’ Memorial Day tribute when we launched something like 20 some odd goons.

Hehe, that was quite a sight!  28 goons the 1st flight, when everyone released their paratroopers above the field, apparently it brought some computers to their knees in Frame rate....flying back up the path of parachutes was some to behold, 280 drunks floating to earth.. :)

I saw a preview show last month which showed some of the making of Band of Brothers. They had 3 real DC-3/C-47s to play with and used a computer to replicate them and blow them up.

In the one scene I would have sworn they had at a minimum 6 flying C-47's. Counted em as they rolled down the runway & took to the skies.

However many they had I was very impressed. It LOOKED real   :)
