Crashes when I use F12 to transmit afternew update today.

After new update whenever I try to transmit AH crashes . I have attached to DMP file in zip format. I can play, just can't talk ! Maybe that's a good thing hope you can help me I type very slowly.

Did you check the key mapping to make sure it was still mapped to transmit?

yes , I checked on my flight stick and the keyboard. both sets of controls triggers the crash.

Update: this occurred after the new patch in AH and after the Window 10 update to ver: 1803.  The map it occurs in is CraterMA by Greebo and we are still on this map. Tried remapping command to other keys on keyboard and the J/S. checked my drive for corruption and defragged it. Then I uninstalled AH, downloaded it and re-installed it. Nothing is helping the glitch. I'll keep playing but reminds me of the old days in Air Warrior with nothing but text.

Can you bind the transmit function to another key. Then check to see if you can transmit without crashing to the desktop.

I see you also got the latest Windows 10 insider preview, just released a couple of weeks ago.

You also have the NVidia audio drivers installed.  If you are not expecting audio through a monitor connected to the HDMI port, then you need to get rid of those drivers.

That build of Windows 10 you are working with has changes to the audio system which NVidia, nor AMD, has released updates to their drivers for.

I uninstalled the NVidia audio drivers, downloaded the latest NVidia drivers then disabled them and I still crash when I use the transmit key. Your latest patch and the 1803 win10 update happened the same day this started. The day before everything was fine so I'm sure it is one of the two updates that caused the problem. I can't find anything on MS or NVidia BB's that refer to this issue?

Did you also check the sound devices being used by the game in Options->Preferences->Game Sounds?

The Windows update could have changed those.

We went through the previous dump and it points to the audio driver crashing.

Can you rollback the Windows update to see if it clears up?

I also noted the default Microsoft supplied USBAUDIO driver was replaced with one from Razer Inc (dated 2014), while the USBAUDIO driver for capture is brand new (4/2018).  That new driver could be the culprit as there should only be one USBAUDIO driver installed and running.

I rolled back the win10 build 1803 to the old build 1709 and now everything works fine. I had to pause updates for three months because WU tries to re-install build 1803.

What you might have to do is remove the Razer supplied USBAUDIO driver BEFORE that update hits as it appears Microsoft does not change that driver and it results in a conflict.

Just a thought.

I ran into this because in Windows 10 I had permission turned off for apps to access microphone.

You need permission turned on for microphone access for apps.

You can get to this in settings for privacy.
