New Mission format for TOD's
« on: September 09, 2001, 09:20:00 PM »
In response to the fiasco that took place for frame 1 of the current TOD we will try something different for the last two frames. If it works out it will be how we run the future TOD’s.

Tomorrow sometime, (maybe tonight) Rojo will send out a map to each of the Frame C.O.’s for frame 2. The map will mark all American targets and all Japanese targets. Targets will include Airfields, Ports, Strat, and Ships. The Frame C.O.’s will limit themselves to attacking and defending only the targets listed. They don’t have to attack all the targets nor defends all the Japanese targets, but give thought to what the opposing Frame C.O. might do. Targets are closer and squads should not see any missions across the map.

There are approximately as many targets are there are squads and since squadrons can hit multiple targets most squads should see some action.

The advantages to this format are:

·   One less CM is required to work a TOD.
·   Frame C.O.’s will see all mission options early on and have more time to plan.
·   Players have more control over missions.

The disadvantages to this format are:
·   More of a chance for squads to miss out on action.
·   More of a chance for huge furballs to take place.

Hope this works out. I want to thank “holder” for some input into this. Also all the CM’s who kept up the pace this weekend so we could respond to the community with a solution.  I think it was rocket who called it “TOD Beta 1b”.  ;)
