Until recently the pickings for a 32" 144hz monitor were pretty slim 24", 27" especially and a few larger 100hz 34" were around, I've tried most of them out and kept 3 of them, and one 4k 28" Acer Gsync. IMO the larger 1440p 34" which are only 100hz, are great, while the difference over 60hz the eye can easily see despite what some say, after 100 or so, from say 100 to 165, the effect of that difference isn't quite as noticeable, although it IS there.
Asus has the 32" XG32VQ out now, a 1440p 144hz unit, if $ isn't an option, it's a great way to go.
I ordered my 27" 4k 144hz unit, $2000 USD pre order (ouch), but the stats on the Asus and Acer models are great, and the early reviews are too, plus I've been waiting closing in on 2 years now for one of these, as they've been delayed over and over, and I'm not letting a ridiculous entry price stop me now.
I still maintain that of all the "gamer" options for an LCD out there, Gsync, size, HDR now, resolution, etc, that hz, anything over 100hz, is by far and away the most critical and experience improving feature. So find yourself a good LCD that can do 100 to 165 ( or higher now if you choose, there are 200hz units out), that fits your budget, and don't worry about "buyers remorse". You won't have any when you see the difference over a 60hz unit.
Skuzzy is right though, 1440p and particularly 4k really benefit from a larger size than 27". That's not to say that a 27" won't provide a huge improvement and great experience, it's just due to the nature of how the eyes see and perceive those little pixels and dots, that for higher res monitors the larger screen size translates to a much better effect. I'm waiting for the new 65" nVidia super LCDs, the big format gaming displays, 120hz, Gsync, 4k, HDR, huge nits...the wife ack is going to be like a raid to Ploesti, if the new 27" are 2$k USD, these suckers have got to be cracking the $4k range...but it'll be so worth it for non VR games.
