flak field
« on: July 12, 2018, 07:29:31 PM »
I wish for a flak field next to each strat. on old and new maps- I know probably to time consuming to change old maps and the auto 88's can't hit a darn thing anyway.

people wish for silly stuff all the time-so I thought I'd take my turn :joystick:

I am not attacking your wish.

I just see that as another way of letting the game be your defense. How about up planes and attack them. Or just resupp after they drop.
There is all ready to many game defending items in here all ready. The stupid op ack the dumb red Gv dar that’s at every town. The instant town resupp when it goes wf. The new battle ships that can sneak up to a base and shut it down in four hits. The insatiable double team of one country every night. If we could take all that away I would agree to it.

When is the last time either of you upped a tank? I don't ever remember fighting either of you. You want to whine about gv's, get in one first, try it out. I suck in a plane but I still fly. Really getting tired of all this "blame the GV'ers" for the game issues.

Point of fact, Lunatics wish is very valid, and historically accurate.

Oh, yeah, that settles it then.

GVs suck.  If I want to be that bored again I'll go mow my lawn.

What are you talking about, the only mention about GV’ers was the in reference to how he thought the GVdar was a non-value added feature.

Before gv dar I loved fighting in tanks. But between vr at the house and gv dar I find it extremely boring. I can’t camp a spot for any length of time. That’s all I see y’all do is find a spot to pounce on in coming gvers now. I don’t mind gvs except for wirbs. I will up a tank when the spawns are close and we can have fast fighting action. You are wrong if you think I am going to drive for seven minutes into a town where you have been sitting for 45 mins and give you a chance to cap me. Nothing fun at all about that. I have fought (mostly killed) by luni a lot. Hell yesterday I drove a m4 into a rook town and main gunner five planes which I also think is stupid. Again it was not about gvers just don’t think the red square helps initiate fights. I hear more we need Jabos on country now than ever before with four tanks sitting outside town surrounding a red square.

It's not that hard to do, the flak base can have all rides disabled and set to un-capturable. The longest part will be waiting while the mask runs so you can then run a build. I did this with the strat complex in each country on my new project. A few of the old maps look like someone added flak bases to them.

I made the complex in each country 16miles diameter. Flak base between each strat. No GV spawns, just a single road up from a nearby base if you want to drive the 12miles up a mountain side. The blue lines are the rail supply and the dummy road I ran up to the strats.

I hate to admit it, but GV's are boring, particular since there is enough tree's in the game to keep John Kerry happy for decades to come.

Before GVdar, you could break up an entrenched spawn camp by simply spawning far away and and driving up behind them while they are busy racking up easy kills.

You can't do that now.

I thought so to, so these pictures show how I've addressed that with my new project. I did things with my two previous projects to help alleviate the tree problem becasue I wanted everyone to see what JohnK was doing out in thosee bushes all alone......

A lot of micro hills and gully's around all feilds in a 6 mile diameter circle including the GV spawns. Then you don't need all the trees.

yeah I think I'm going to like this new map.

how long does it usually take HiTech to approve a new terrain/map provided there are no revisions to be done?

i think it is strange all the requirements he puts on map makers who are working free for his game to survive.

If those “requirements” were not in place, this game would have shut down long ago.

If he didn't you would be in here whipping up lynch mobs to scream about how terrains are screwing your game play. I'm good but, I want Hitech to look over my work becasue I'm not that good. My last terrain, several bridges have minuscule gaps at the edge of the end berms I missed. And I thought I had crawled around each bridge with a microscope to catch that.

This is why I keep telling you gents to try building a terrain. Until you do, it's next to impossible to understand what it takes to produce a finished product Hitech will put into rotation. Those requirements protect you his valued customers, and I agree with them or I wouldn't go through all of this.
