353rdFG P-51B "Lucky Leaky II"

I haven't officially adopted this skin yet - I got home late last night and noticed all of Fencer's, Machnix's, and Kev367th's skins have been declared orphans.   I happened to already have been working on this one for the past few weeks though, just because I wanted to try a checkered cowl and because it has a nice expanse of bare metal to play with.  It was one of my favorite P-51B skins from Fencer.

This aircraft ended its life as a squadron hack, bellied in after the engine died from fuel starvation.  I decreased the brightness and upped the contrast from my standard metal base and heavily reduced the specularity of the dirt and grime layers to try to make it look really worn and grimy:

Hi guys, thanks for the compliments on Lucky Leaky II.   This was the last skin I created.  I think the darker shade of aluminum I used looks best in bright sunlight.  As I recall Skuzzy did a skin release the morning after I posted these images; I left the game shortly after that so it never did get adopted or submitted. 
 
Haven't come back, but I still look over the board now and then to see what's going on with Aces High.

There are a few more screenshots of Lucky Leaky II here: Oboe's Aces High III Skin Gallery.   Was playing around with an image gallery app to document my AH III skins.   Link is also in my signature.

Ha, thanks but not ready to come back.  I built a new PC last Fall and my AH files are still on the old hard drive in storage.  I probably should have backed it up somewhere before I packed it away, now that I think about it.

Thank you FTJR, I wanted to play around with code that expands thumbnail images.  At the same time, I wanted to have some kind of record of the skins I made in case they got adopted and re-submitted under another name.  I didn't get to my P-38s, but all of those were created back in AH2 anyway and will disappear when the new P-38 3D model arrives.
