The Breakfast Club - Weekend Special
« on: July 21, 2018, 02:37:19 AM »
For two weeks I've been running the Breakfast Club - a privately hosted, free to everybody dogfight / ACM arena. A thread about it started here:- http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,393636.0.html

Today we are having a 'Breakfast Club - Weekend Special', using the Steal The Sheep map with kill shooter according to Violator's suggestion. It's up now and for about the next 6-7 hours.

On weekdays I usually host it with the old DA map. So far we've mostly been doing rolling 1-on-1s at the furball lake. So if you want a quick fight, work on your ACM, try new planes or techniques, there's no score recorded anywhere, have a look on the arena list somewhere between 5-a.m. until about midday New York time (EDT / UTC−4). Please read the Message of the Day.

So far (in the last two weeks) only positive experiences for anyone that's flown there. Not a single piece of smack-talk, everyone very respectful of the fights. Dare I say it, we seem to have hit on a vein of something arguably hard to find in the MA these days: quick and mutual fun.

Glad that someone is working your timezone.  :rock

Instead of the DA terrain, you should check out the jaeger's monmad03 terrain for a change of pace.

nrshida has knobby knees.

That will be the extent of smack talk in this thread too.

Great Job Nrshida! Wish I could have stayed around longer but it was 3am and I was out of beer...

I really like this small map. Better scenery and no gangs. Would definitely encourage checking out other maps too.

Will hope to be on next weekend!

Next weekend I'm going to run one of the dedicated tank maps with aircraft available at every Vbase. I tested it today and it works. Will dial the ack down to nothing again. The bases are closer together but there's more of them so more spread out as well. If that makes any sense.  :headscratch:

Only one is slightly knobbly and the result of a motorcycle high side at considereable speed. The closest thing I'll ever come to to actually ejecting from anything

You have no idea how relevant that bit of lyric is old chap!  :)

Did you see the bug report I made about changing country flags to fix that issue we had with players getting stuck?

The stig and I became POWs we upped as nits then all bases became rooks violator was the only rook after he shot us down we were stuck as nits at a rook base and couldn't up again... It was fun until until violators idea of torture showed us why he's called The Violator
. I've cried myself to sleep every night since...

Yeah there's apparently a few bugs we're trying to navigate around. Apologies for the inconvenience / torture.

The Breakfast Club - Weekend Special is presently rocking the Tankland Map with all fighter planes available at all vehicle bases. On all the inner bases clicking H will put you neatly on the grass field - just check your clearance before takeoff as this was of course designed to be a vehicle map. On the outer bases make sure you use the SW takeoff. It's a bit bumpy but will get the job done.

Ack is reduced to the max, so you can fight anywhere you like. You may still visually register the hits but no damage - at least I tested it flying in the ack for 20 minutes and no damage.

This map has very densely packed bases and conversely enough space to spread out fights. If you're tired of the large MA maps travel-to-fight-ration then this is the place for you. All reasonably capable of dogfigting planes are available.

I'll be hosting for the next, say six hours, but will only be able to fly myself here and there and will be afk a lot. Enjoy!
