Car Crazies in here? Tell us what you got...
« on: August 06, 2018, 02:42:48 PM »
Finished a 77 Jeep restore then bought a 73 Corvette for restoration next... Drag raced fuel altered for years too. Thus the name.... (No, it's not because I wear high heels and a bra, 27th, even though you dream of me in them)

Got an old car, truck?? Let's hear about it.
I was abandoned as a child and raised by feral weener dogs. To this day, I can't bring myself to eat a ballpark frank.

Model 3 Performance Edition. I have only had it for 1 week. Absolutely the fastest car I have ever driven.

  Probably a similar story to mine...I took Dads commute car(Was working in Chattanooga, but driving weekends till we moved) A Toyota Tercel 84' model. Front wheel drive and gas for days. Well, first time I REALLY drove it,as my truck was in shop, I took it to my buddies BACK Country-Hide from everyone drinking/Smoking zone. It was nasty...had rained for a week..BUT THAT LITTLE car....went where those 4x4's got stuck..straddled the ruts. So I was the "Shuttle" car   Was a just fine, after about $10 in quarters as the the Car Wash.....UNTILL that DAY :uhoh   Dad...changed the oil    Forgot to clean EVERYWHERE  :rofl

I drag raced modified production in a 56' Chevy Bel Air back in the 70's at the now closed Raceway Park, in Englishtown, NJ.  I sold it and bought a new 76' Corvette, drove it for 34 years, but never raced it.

How I miss the 80's and my stock 5.0.  Never found a Vette for less than 40k (back then) that could beat it.  Dodge was no where to be found in those days.  Just a bunch of 30 something's reliving the past talking about their uncle's old Roadrunner.  I think I paid 9k. for that Fox body.

We used to destroy Five-Point-Slows in our Chargers and Road Runners.    Buddy of mine had a ‘68 Charger with a six-pack 383.   When I drove that thing I felt like I got launched off a carrier in a Hornet.

Even better was another friend and his Camaro (‘68 or ‘69).   I think it got about four gallons to the mile.   Ain’t a modern Mustang I’ve ever seen that could touch that thing.   It was unbelievable.   I am lucky I didn’t get a detached retina riding with him in that sucker.  Whew.

This is Big Blue during a typical day at the office:

She retired from work duty this year and is now living a life of frivolity.

"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."
