Auto guns on Bombers, larger formations

I would love to see gunners on bombers that were auto gunners.  WWII bombers were not all easy targets, and since getting multiple people to fly with you on a buff run, the auto gunners only make sense.  I wouldn't want to see gunners like some of the buff pilots on all positions, but some level of competence, and variability.   

It'd be cool if there was a way to actually have huge raids that were done on occassion as a special event.  Attacking a large bomber formation would be interesting.  I know the 1000 plane raids are not a viable option, but seeing auto-gunned large formations would be an interesting target.  You could let people gun from the bombers, and fighters attack to their hearts content.

That would be acceptable if auto gunners were only enabled when two or more cons are within 1000 yards.  One on one?  No thanks.

Given that HTC coded puffy ack to stop firing when you are within 1000 of an enemy, it could probably be done for auto gunners as well.

Not having auto buff gunners is a nice way to sidestep the endless “auto gunners are too accurate/not accurate enough” squabble though.
