Your new test arena is the first one in the list.  It appears to be selected by default.

The result is people are likely to end up there first, see an empty arena and leave.  Yes, I know they should be able to work out where people are by looking at the numbers but you know humans......have your MA arena as the default.

He's right. I wondered into the test arena the other morning, half asleep and wondered what on earth had the game come to, with only 8 peeps playing.

Maybe trying to find a better server location that would HELP peoples connections IS thinking about the user experience.
If you have EVER complained about your connection or being booted or discoed here's YOUR chance to help YOUR problem by letting HTC know if a different server location might help YOUR problem.

From my POV, he is.
Far too many, if not most, people on this Board post just to say something opposed to posting when they have something to say.

The point is they shouldnt have put it in the number 1/default position on the list. You may remember back when HTC first setup the different areas (WWI, Early War, Mid War, Late War). For the first couple of day most of the players played in the Early War arena because it was the first one on the list. Word finally spread and most moved to the late war arena.

You know guys I started this online flight stuff somewhere in the early 90s flying Air Warrior on Genie at $6/hour.  Progressed thru Air Warrior for Mac on AOL then over to Warbirds and finally here on Aces High.  Not once, ever did I need direction to an arena.  I'm not exceptional in the intelligience department yet manage to figure things out.  An occasional question I would ask to clear up small points but it wasn't hard working things out.

I just don't understand the angst.  Sure, it would be handy to feed folks into a specific arena but certainly not needed for game survival.

Edited - I do not understand the angst.  Typing with brain damage can be a challenge. :)

:aok , and I have had the same similar experiences since genie / Delphi days and $600 to $1,100.00+ monthly AW bills...
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

You know HTC have said that people are attracted to the game but are not lasting 10 minutes before disappearing never to be seen again.  The fewer roadblocks the better IMO.
