P-40F flown by Lieutenant Charles B. Hall of the 99th Fighter Squadron in June 1943. On July 2, Hall would become the first African-American to claim an air-to-air victory, a Fw 190 over Sicily. His aircraft features the name of Hall's wife, Maxine, on both sides of the nose. The yellow wing stripes for MTO operations and the yellow stripe on the vertical stab and rudder indicates that this plane was hand-me-down from the 58th FS. The 99th FS received all of it's planes second hand from the other squadrons in the 33rd FG as new aircraft were delivered to the squadrons with white pilots.
Special thanks to Swareiam and Lyric for providing critical info in making this skin the best representation of Hall's aircraft anywhere.
