Current radar settings
« on: September 14, 2018, 07:26:18 AM »

When I logged in today, it looked like still testing radar settings. How long will this test last? :frown:
Or has it been this way all the time? :huh

Its basically the same as always. Only now, if you are seen(ICON) by country men...they show up on map. Radar levels are still 200ft radar dead and 65 radar up(heard 115ft but not sure). So pretty much the same.

I think current setting mean Airborne radar with datalink which OOPARTS while WWII.
It is different from situation awareness with radio voice.

I can understand if I can only see it on the tower as GCI, but I can not accept it that they can see it on the aircraft.
Why did HTC adopt this setting?

So do you want a static CBM with notes written on it?

Why did HTC adopt this setting?

I think to compensate for the lower MA population Blade-san  :salute

HTC has not disclosed the reason throughout all the test or later. We may never know.
All we have is guesses from various players.

My currently preferred theory is that VR users are threatening to sue for health problems with their neck, so the clipboard now makes it unnecessary to check 6.

Why? Because people are lazy and want the easy button.  :bhead

Reasonable assumption and acceptable conclusion. HTC answers to no man.  :)

1. A light user only needs to play another game.If Aces High is aiming for a light game, I will move on to another game because it is not what I want.I do not think that this change will bring new customers, and is not it just that the players from Aces High, eventually Air Warrior, leave?
2. Viewpoint switching by HAT is also possible using VR goggles, so VR users are threatening to sue for health NO problems with their neck

The radar setting should be restored.

why post that you are leaving as if somehow you are the one post to change them all?

id its no longer your cup of tea just move along and stop with the dramatics.

those crying about this iteration of radar make up maybe 0.0000000001% of the population.

good god man... .

i guess htc better change the 6k neon red icons, chess pieces,  same country planes fighting each other and everything else that is not remotely realistic or historical.

i think there is an argument for new dar being legit.  scouts or other fighters would have radioed contacts and controllers or spotters would have done the same regardless of working radar.  Also radar was a chain and not just one post so killing one wouldnt have downed the whole system.  I guess the British system was the most advanced in the world at the time compared to everyone else.

Historical accuracy or not is not a reason again the radar change.

Having to scan the sky visually was an important part of the game play. That's now gone, simply keep the watching the map.
Slipping through enemies on the deck (low enough to show no icon) was a possible option. This is now gone, too.

Less variety - more boring.

Ok, there's now the new option of instrument intercepts through the clouds.
