This skin was requested by Perdue3, my thanks to Lyric1 for finding the info for it.

This D3A1 from the IJN carrier Junyo was flown by PO1c Yukio Oishi and WO Hiroshi Yamamoto during the June 3rd/4th attack on the Aleutian Islands. This was an operation designed to divert American attention from the main IJN attack at Midway. While over Dutch Harbor Oishi's Val was shot down by USAAF P-40 fighters.

It sure was.  For both sides. 

Did some reacquainting with that area of operations today.  The B-24D crash is a National Historic Landmark or some such.  Very nice.   Too bad we can't preserve it.
