This is an update of a skin originally done by Player1 in 2014. Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for it.
This P-47M was the first example to be delivered to the 56th FG and was requisitioned by the group's CO Colonel David Schilling. Schilling commanded the 56th's 62nd Fighter Squadron when they arrived in England in January 1943 and was the 56th's group commander from August 12th 1944. By war's end he was the sixth-leading ace of the 8th Air Force having scored 22½ kills, including five in one day on December 23rd 1944.
