OT: But it may help a lot of people....

Hello all !

It's been a long time since i've flown AH or even posted, but I thought I'd pass on info about a nice instant messenging tool.

Sick of dealing with MSN Msgr,Yahoo,ICQ,IRC, etc., just because you have friends who use one or another ?

I'm using an app called Trillian, that lets me connect to all of these at one time. No need to run multiple IM software.
It's free and it works well. None of that spyware crap either.
You can get it www.trillian.cc

I been using it for 6 months and it's stable.

---

For those interested in a similar tool that has even more potential.... check out www.jabber.org

There are many apps for many operating systems that use the "jabber" protocol.
Many are open source.
In my experience many are not quite "ready for primetime", but hey if you like playing with new stuff you might like one of them.

It sure helps getting a bunch of people together online, no matter which operating system or instant messenger they use.

Snoopi! S! Good to see ya pal! If you ever decide to get some time, at least in H2H, look me up.

That being said... this kinda goes in the O'club, old chap!  ;).

Nice to see you, hope things are well.

LOL Hey Ispar !

I just got back from 10 days on Vancouver Island.  :) Things are going good. Except for the continuing lack of permanent employment.  :(  All things change with time though so no worries yet. I'm starting to think of taking anything permanent in the tech field instead of just Oracle DBA jobs. Currently I'm working on a database app for the Red Cross, but thats over once it's delivered.

how are things with you ?

It has been a long time since i've even looked at playing a sim. Too much work and not even close to enough play.   :(
Winter will make things slow down and besides, where I live, we hibernate for 4 months so it's either watch TV.. ugh.. or "fly"    :D

Yeah.. it really should be in the Club.. but I thought since it is great for use with squads in AH it almost qualifies for posting here. Even if only used for squad mission planning, I.P. exchange, etc.. it's great.
