Are c47 air drops working to capture towns?
« on: November 18, 2018, 02:35:07 PM »
Twice I have airdropped troops on a wf deacked  town with no result. I believe both drops were from above 800 AGL. First one was just after the patch that made the clipboard screwy and the other was today.  I know this was a bug briefly once before but I could just be my mistake. Anyone report success with airdrops today?

You guys know that an enemy chute can not enter the map room to wait for troops in aces high 3?

I've killed tons of troops with the pistol during horde base takes and I stand as far from the map room as I possibly can and still arc pistol rounds into the running troops.

The only time strafing has gotten me is when the person strafing the map room can't hit it and an errant cannon shell lands right next to me.

You need at least a 250 pounder on the map room to kill someone standing that far away.

Thanks for the replies Yesterday I asked on country and it seemed to be working so maybe I dropped too low. The first bad drop was late at night and it seemed completely unopposed. Maybe I whiffled the altitude, its 800' AGL right?

I'm betting that you allowing liquor on board had something to do with it.

I have plenty of experience walking the entirety of aces high in a "chute".       When you walk in the door of a map room, you are "deposited" on top.

I probably have substantially more "troop kills" than my close to 400 player kills when in a chute.

I go right through them, like they're not even there. That was in October.

Maybe dx9 behaves differently than Dx11?   Not really sure.

In my version, I would walk to the door and, the second I stepped to the threshold, I would be put on top.

That said, the guys who kill the most troops are not in the map room but outside it........safe from strafing.
