Thanks to Lyric1 for finding me the info for this scheme, an update of one of Kev367th's skins that he did in 2007.
In 1943 this B-24 was part of the USAAF's 479th Anti-Submarine Group based in the UK. This Group was tasked with hunting U Boats crossing the Bay of Biscay between their home ports in France and the Atlantic. The front and undersides of their aircraft were painted white to make them less visible to a surfaced U Boat's crew at night, a black-painted aircraft tended to show up as a dark silhouette against the sky.
