Bf109 Training Videos Wanted!
« on: January 26, 2019, 11:13:15 PM »
I beeen enjoying reviewing Agent360 videos and I am sucking it all up. Does anyone have any other 109 training videos they might want to share? I apparently learn a lot more from other people videos than mine. Primarily because I suck and watching my videos was not helpful and causes mild depression.  :D

Soo are there any other 109 Jocks out there?  I remember Agent360 and Kappa and few others that were really good in the K4.

Intent is to make 109K my primary fighter ride.

Well it's not video's of 109'd I can over you. But a general tip would be learn the strength of your 109 Vs other planes. Keep also in mind not all the 109's are the same and have different abilitys. I would not use a k4 for trun fighting but I would do so with the F model.

If you fly the k4, try and make use of its excellent climb rate and keep the plane in a fight in the vertical. If you dive in it throttle back because you don't want it to compress to much. If you find it compresses a bit you might want to bind the trim up key to your stick. I personally reset the trim by hitting my autopilot twice, but u think you can do the same with combat mode off and on.

A way to keep the fight in the vertical would be making use of high Jo Jos if you are the aggressor.

I highly recommend reading stuff about the planes in ah we have here: https://www.hitechcreations.com/wiki/index.php/Aircraft_of_Aces_High_II

I hope this is useful to you and sorry it is not a film.

Cheers,

While I may have left I am always open to questions about aircraft. I don't have many videos over the 109s for training but I have flown all of them and understand what they can and can't do to some degree and could at least get you started.

a link to my discord simply let me know in general chat when and if you hop in and I'll set you up with tags. this link is open for anyone at anytime.

I got the basic of flying 109 and got the elevator trim mapped to my joystick. Im more looking in to Plane specific ACM's. for example Agent 360 video covers what he calls torque roll that is something I was  not aware and it came handy last night. Specifically I still struggle with floping around at the top of my rope reversal. I can do it but not very consistently. I have seen some pilots in awe, reversing so fast at the top of their rope.

109s where my main whip for a while. I have a ton of previous post about the 109 I will post on here when I have more time this weekend. You better read them though if I'm gonna take the time  :old:

Start learning ACM and more importantly defensive maneuvers at your earliest convenience.

Your first task is to ingrain this maneuver in your head and practice it over and over again.

I play late weekend nights. Hollar at me if you see me. I'll take you for a ride. Finally got a mic too so you will be in luck!  :airplane:

The barrel roll is the go to maneuver. Good for offense and defense. Practice different sizes and limiting your forward travel, this is important in a rolling scissors which is a series of barrel rolls where you try to get behind the bandit.

Understanding when to use lead pursuit vs lag pursuit is basic to ACM. Lead pursuit gives you a turning shot, closes distance in a turn, and sets up a crossing shot. Lag pursuit helps you match flight paths to get into the control position and reduces energy loss in a turn compared to lead pursuit. The common mistake is to use lead pursuit when you don't have a chance to make the shot instead of flying to a good position first with lag pursuit.

Axe I saw and watched this video. I just re watched it last night. I got a good understanding of how the torque works at the top of the rope and pumping of the throtle to decrease turning radius. One place I struggle on the barrel roll is estimating my opponents e. I used it last night and got a couple of kills. Not like pro in an instant reversal but in a short pursuit that ensued after they made 3 sometimes 4 hi altitude passes at me. Had a couple good fights with someone in ki-84 he got m both times tho. Managed 5-6 bomber kills. 2 of them (24s) not outright but apparently I pumped them with enough 30mm and someone got assists I suppose. Overall im getting a tad better. Id love to he able to DA like we used to. What happened with DA anyways?

I ran across you 4 or 5 times, both Ki84 and Spit 16...could have been me. Only thing I saw(and I am no expert) that got you killed...1: Went for the shot a bit early and 2: Tried to rope Spit16 or Ki84. Both these rides in my opinion are the toughest rides to rope :uhoh They can match E real fast(if misjudged or mistake made) and climb just about as well as K4(especially at the ALT "WE" tangled. You dove on me every time I went under you and I got on top of you and could accelerate so that you couldnt get an E advantage(you could have disengaged) and I just wore your E bank down. Instead of going for the nose low low, crossing shot, you could have stayed higher and turned in reversal/lag pursuit and forced me to burn MY E to get back up too you. May be explaining it wrong, but thats how I saw it. Biggest thing was the plane you were fighting...in either case. Not much room for error. You did a pretty good job...just got too antsy after the 3rd turn...almost like you were TOO ready to get the fight over :uhoh

I cant tell you how much this helped I now feel so much more confident when there is a con above me. I managed to turn the tables on a few pilots over last couple of days. DA on Monday nights is so helpful and A map with a fightertown is a must.

Great! Defense and counter punch maneuvers are very important to flying the 109s, or really any non BnZ plane for that matter. If you want to really know the 109, starting with a plane on your 6 and reversing it is the name of the game. The goal is to get that quick snap shot rather than shoot with a dead 6 lead. 109s don't particularly like the dead 6 position. Haven't had time for the write ups yet.
