Is it possible to turn a topographical map into a terrain with the TE?

How and to what difficulty?

Tips welcome.

Yes, quite easily.  Download AKWabbit's BMP2MAP editor.  It will do a 512x512 mile terrain out of a 1024x1024 greyscale image.  Black is 0 elevation which means water, white is the highest elevation.  You can define the highest elevation value in the editor. So, make a 1024x1024 greyscale image of your topographic map and import it.

You can find BMP2MAP on the HTC download page.

Good luck!

Use the [] instead of <> to display images.

Is that a photo, or did you do that in the TE?

The bpm2map program keeps giving me runtime errors left and right, so i'll leave that alone for a while.

And the mapmaker is a read my code, then try your luck program.I'll have to give it some time later.

Still no luck with AH's TE (joystick dont wanna cooperate with the program).

Back to work...
