Any chance we'll get crosswinds at air fields?  How bout socked in airfields?  Maybe have a low layer of clouds socking in some fields at random.  A1's kinda high, can that ever get socked in?  Latest build's really awesome guys, keep up the good work

Weather effects would be nice! I bet they are not too hard to model either.

Ideas:

- Model smoke coming from AA guns and destroyed vehicles and structures. This smoke could drift away in direction of wind.

- Cloud patterns on different heights

- Contrails. If plane is high enough, make them leave contrails.

Someone else can fill in the rest.

when are going to get gradual fade light/dark and opacity when entering a cloud bank, and not just instant medium greyness ??

cheers.

Well, as it is now, we have several bands of clouds roving the map at different levels.  It should be pretty easy to get a few down to ground level.  I'm no programmer, I'm just assuming it would be a relatively simple thing to do without causing anyone alot of extra work.

"clouds are pretty uniform in greyness when inside them"

maybe so, they also have patches of light and dark in there to, but not to the degrees we have, and no way do real clouds go from light and fluffy to solid grey instantly..

cheers

take a flight on a cloudy day and fly into a good sized cloud

Not too long ago I flew to Kansas City and the cloud layers were broken.  I was looking out the window watching the world pass by.  Saw a couple of wisps over the wing and boom, greyness.

its simplified but its on the mark... the only problem I have is not the greyness.

It's that there are just not enough clouds and not enough greyness to be useful for combat and they are too small.

you can see dots through the greyness too so they about useless.

Clouds can be adjusted at different levels, we had HTC drop the cloud layer down for our OPS with another squad, it was Russia (LA-5) vs LW (109's) and the clouds were dropped to 5k in the Scenario arena.

Keep in mind, clouds kill FR, and more clouds means less FR, and thunder heads would mean NO FR..hehe
