Welcome to AH!

I hope that you will enjoy yourselves here.  I never flew in AW, so I can't really comment on its apparent demise.  All I can really say is that I am sorry your sim is closing its doors.  On the other hand, you will find that AH is indeed a wonderful sim supported by a company that really does care about its product and community (despite the whines of a few here and there).

Anyways, sorry about AW, but glad you all are coming here.  You won't be disappointed!

Thanks, Mathman... though I have been here for a while anyway, I have still been playing Air Warrior on a regular basis and am extremely sad to see it die.  Thanks for making the incoming Air Warriors welcome... many of them still shocked and hurting from it's demise - I think there will be many more in coming weeks.

Oh, and yes there are quite a few "Gals" in Air Warrior, who I imagine will also be coming here - I'm one of them...   ;)

Yup - welcome aboard guys. When AW for the mac died it really sucked. I kinda know how ya must feel. Despite this bbs stuff... no worries... all everyone's really interested in, ultimately, is pointing thier planes at other planes and blowing stuff up. So... the more planes, the better... right?

AW is still going - at the moment!  But as Kesmai Studios have been closed and all the online staff that worked there laid off, there is just no future to it anymore.  It is strongly rumoured (yet to be confirmed by EA.com) that the plug will be pulled on November 1st.  If this is true, it will be a sad ending for Air Warrior.  :(

I will sure miss old AW. It was my first online sim. I was UNDERDOG on AW, AW2, and AW3. If any of the old AW NIGHTHAWKS are out there please yell at jimdandy (UNDOG). Sad to see AW die but good to see all the AW folks here <S>.

Welcome former AWers!

Sorry to hear your game died...
(Actually, I am just trying to sound sympathetic because I am really delighted to have so many folks join our game who are not starting at ground-zero with online flight sims!, [not that there is anything wrong with true newbies  :) ])

If you have never flown another online flight sim before, please have patience.  New commands and a different feel may be discouraging at first, but hang in there.  Your learning curve will literally be 100 fold of what it was when you were a true newbie.  I am sure that within a week or month we will see a bunch of  "newbies" who are regularly kicking our butts!

If some of us seem a bit unwelcoming, please don't take it personally,

flossy... so far as i know there is only one other woman on AH.   She is akdeja but she is a mean, bitter, man hating, lesbian.   SW was dating her for a while but I think they broke up.

Could we just make an "ex AW" area on this board so that they can do their silly babble at each other there and type normaly everywhere else. Then people wont get offended by their sour grapes.
