Never Saw This Coming

Just a couple of years before hitting the big 50.  Waking up at 0400 to be at work at 0600, it's just not as easy when I was in my 20s.  Never became a coffee drinker, nor jumped into the energy drink craze.  Always been a lifelong Pepsi drinker.  What did I just discover that will wake me up beyond description.



COKE!!!!!


I get a 1 liter bottle of coke from the c-store at 0500 and man, I don't get the drowsiness.

Both flavors use HFCS instead of natural sugar. If you insist on drinking soda then you might consider buying Mexican coke instead. HFCS is a Frankenstein sugar. Europe, for one, has already banned HFCS as has most of Asia where the battle is still ongoing. It's just a matter of time before HFCS impacts your health this late in life.

Well the coca cola recipe is a trade secret but. There is only one company in the USA that processes coca leaves. They extract the cocaine for pharmaceutical purposes and they sell the leaves to coca cola.

If you're looking for high caffeine content and you don't mind loosing teeth (google Mountain Dew mouth) mountain dew has the highest caffeine of all the mainstream pop.

they don't use coca leaf and haven't for decades. One of the company heirs released the original formula a few years back, as well as the last formula to use bittering and real cane sugar (unprocessed). Someone made a YT video about it. You will not believe how much sugar went into it.

One of the only reasons that they use HFCS is the high cost of sugar (which is protected under U.S. law). HFCS also allows them to use more salt, which causes you to drink more in the never ending cycle of cravings.

You sure about that? A quick search lead me to a few articles stating that Stepan was still supplying Coca~Cola with leaves into the 2000s.
