so after about 1.5yrs i come back to find no new planes and red guys show up on dar where the dar is down... how is this suppose to be less gamey? Thought they were working towards bringin in the masses, not micro managing a game that was perfectly good...

Where did you get that from? I can't remember that this was ever stated as a goal or intention by HTC.  :headscratch:

The Dar change is the best thing to happen to this game in years.

Speaking strictly for myself:
It completely burned all bridges for me. Even if AH would see a miracolous increase in player numbers, I wouldn't come back with a dar system like that.
There were a few changes over the years which gave me quite a bit of frustration, but this one pushed me over the cliff for good.

Obviously you posted without actually looking. Otherwise you would know that when folks are within a certain distance, they show to one another. This helps find fights. Read up.

The new dar is suppose to simulate a forward fighter sweep reporting enemy cons. It purpose is to make finding the enemy/fights easier for new players who havent learned to read the maps.

It does really mess with those wishing to play hide and seek. Lusche was one of those guys that liked to plan out his run to avoid radar and get to a target unnoticed and return the same way. It was a challenge he enjoyed and it was taken away with this new dar.

The GV dar was also something that was a bit over the top. Almost pin pointing a small area an enemy GV was in takes away the main element of the ground war,, stealth. It chased away most of the GVers.

New planes? LOL!!! right. The only thing new has been HTC's switch to a new server, and "War Online: Pacific" over in the Steam library.

I don't understand why making the dar per base harder to destory was too much to ask. That was really the problem with it. Every player would kamikaze dar on the first pass. Then it was very tough to understand how big the fight was. I dislike that if one friendly can see you, than everyone else can to, thus brining the gang effect.

Eagle, there's many things that could be worked on. Hitech could use a bigger workforce.

So what was it? Enlighten us. It seems to that was one of the things you use to complain about, or maybe it was someone else.

There is a whole contingent of players doing just that: Waiting for a miraculous increase in player numbers. You sure you wouldn't have a change of heart?

Then why are you still here?  Why do you continue to sit here and criticize the game and it's owner when you don't play anymore?

The radar has changed so that if an enemy player is in visual range of a friendly player, that plane will show up on radar.  This has made it easier for people to find a fight.

Many of the changes people suggest, or demand, to bring in more players would make AH more gamey, not less.  One of the things we could do right here and now is work to make the BBS less toxic.
