Wicked Wabbit
« on: September 20, 2019, 09:13:11 AM »
LNG15 requested I skin a 65th FS razorback jug for next month's Anzio scenario and Ghostdancer has kindly agreed to add it to his terrain for the event. This skin won't be submitted for the MA as all 32 skin slots for the P-47D-11 are already taken.

Wicked Wabbit was the P-47D flown by Lt. James C. "Wabbit" Hare of the 65th Fighter Squadron while based in Corsica in 1944. This squadron was part of the 57th Fighter Group who fought in the North African and Italian campaigns from late 1942 until the end of the war.

Fantastic job.

It's a shame we can't rotate this into the regular lineup.

I think HTC should either add slots or remove/archive old: not well done and or too similar skins form long gone skinners. If they ever come back or update their work it could be added back and some other not up to snuff skin would take its place in the "archive."

Great looking skin! i'm sad it wont be in the MA  :cry   Though for the D-11 i only fly Yankee Tarheel  ;)

I believe HTC are reluctant to do this because they'd get moaned at by players whose favourite skin had just been cut. So all we can do is update these old skins to the latest standards.

looking good. Keep up the good work.

Not a big fan of keeping the non-updated skins, any skin by not updated should be replaced.

There must also be a flyable computer available for Nefarious to do FSO. So he doesn't keep talking about it for eight and a half hours on Friday night!

I tried to cut and paste it into the skins and it wouldn't show up in the SEA and it was set as a jpeg. Could I get some advice on how to download it and put it into the game just for reference? I am not use to this.

The are only two ways to add a skin to the online game. One is for the skinner to submit it to the skins admin site and have it approved for the MA, which I can't do in this case. The other is for the skinner to send it to a terrain builder who can then add it as the default skin for that terrain, which is what happened for the Anzio scenario. The skin won't appear anywhere else but in that terrain though.

If you want to fly using this skin offline then that can be done. I can email you the skin files with instructions of where and how to install them. Just PM me the address you want them sent to.

Ok I gotcha now Greebo. When I was flying last week it didn't show up as the default skin for me. And I was checking the default skin which was the 78th skin but didn't show the 65th. So I am not sure.

I sent the skin to Ghostdancer to put into the terrain on 20th September. I don't know if he added it to the terrain though.
