No, but one of my first squadron buddies ran into him at a Colorado ski resort one night and they partied deep into the wee hours.

One Friday night at the Homestead AFB O’Club during my F-4 RTU course, a bunch of us were huddled around a table sampling beers.  An old dude in a suit had been sitting by himself at the next table minding his own business and listening to the constant flow of BS coming from our table.  After a while, he came over and asked if he could join us.  The introductions began and it was George “Bud” Day who joined us.  Of course, he didn’t buy anything for the rest of the night. An amazing, down to earth guy.  Such a privilege to meet him.

I just went back and reviewed the end.  The name doesn’t sound familiar.  A good commentary, regardless.  I’m guessing he got to do some flying against the Fishbed.
