Btw looking at the logs you were only reported once when you got muted, but you were reported Nov 22 by many people.

You do not have an opt out on private.

I am not "real angry about being muted".

Do you read your own posts?

We already have an opt in/out. Detune 200. But since it's not the default, newbies get a taste of AH kindergarten playground before they get anything else.

Does that prevent PM?

I was never on channel 200, and still got abusive PMs from internet tough guys, so I think this is a great idea. It was the primary reason I left the game, and would probably persuade me to come back. There's nothing like having a grown adult meltdown like a three year old and constantly stalk you in PMs. It kinda ruins the game. As for the OP, good riddance. Your actions are a major part of what has been ruining this game.

You can still pm anyone. He is talking about 200.

.... and that is what we generally see. Then they come here innocently to complain.

A persistent block may do the trick. Keeps triggering and reverse triggering down (until a fellow AHer gossips to ya 'You should see what so-n-so is sayin' boutcha!')  :old:

I'm pretty sure the only thing that prevents PM is squelch.

Another thing could be key words triggering a completely benign message replacement:

Typed: You pansy chicken doo-doo head.

Received: It's good to have you here. Welcome to AH.

Get rid of 200.  There's no reason to chit-chat with the enemy.
We have PM if needed.

200 is opt in.
Cross-country PM should be opt-in as well.

It will always be too great a temptation for the rage-monkeys and it is unfair to the innocent party to be forced to make the extra effort to squelch them one at a time.  Every time, since Hitech is against the idea of a perma-squelch list.

Yeah but you cant opt out of rage PMs or what has now become popular are rage voice PMs.
