Keeping the FW 190F-8 stats positive

We got the ground attack version of the FW 190 in to positive territory on the Aces High Plane Statistics for Melee Tour 239!  277 kills versus 272 losses.  Kill/Death ratio of 1.01   

Of course, this is merely a picture in time, but usually the F-8 runs a 1 for 2 ratio so this is awesome.  I mean, currently the 109K-4 has a 1.06 Kill/Death ratio and this is considered an ubber ride. 

The F-8 is a sleeper with a lot of potential.

Now remove the GV kills and compare the stats of those two again

Only if I get to remove all F-8 losses due to GVs.   

F-8 ground victories were 63 and losses due to ground fire were 124. 
If we remove the ship gunner nonsense its still 63 kills to 73 losses.


Pure air-to-air looks like 215 kills to 150 losses for a K/d of 1.42

Lol, get Save back into MA play and he will single handedly move it into the positive. He took it as a challenge one tour a few years back and ended the tour with 11:1 K/D (no gv kills).

... of course he had to fly like a wuss and had a Mossie VI to clear his tail, but still very impressive.

yes but hte 63 victories are all against he radar.

F-8 is tough and fast. 

Better odds then flying a D3A1, TBM, B5N2, SBD-5, any sort of Stuka, IL-2, B-25H. 

The F-8 suffers from planes that can lift more and, in general, can do more (P-51D, P-47N, P-38L, Hellcat, Mossie, Typhoon, Tempest, ugh!).

But we fly it not because it's an easy ride.  We fly it because it's an overweight teutonic death trap with more style then steering.

If I could figure out the rockets for killing tanks I'd fly it more rather than as a deacker. Otherwise the stuka is the most fun plane for gv killing.

If you want a fun and very underrated plane, the A5 is one heck of a competitive ride against the LW monsters.

I prefer rides that are challenging. 

Any newb can fly a Spitfire and get kills. 

But, hands down, the F-8 beats the Spit in it's assortment of crazy cool camouflage skins!
