Airfield Problems
« on: November 30, 2000, 12:15:00 AM »
Hi everyone.

I have been trying to create some new airfields. The problem I am encountering is that I am calling the runway object a `runway' and in some cases I am calling the `vehicle base terrain object' a runway, yet I have never been able to get them to `behave' as a runway (In terms of physics, I.E.- Planes bouncing, receiving a ditch when you land, etc).

Anyone know how to alleviate this problem when creating new airfields (Without using the ones we already have    or the `base' map from the ones which exist)?

Thanks
SD

I have had that prob too and especally when i used thar huge double runway.  I do 2 things that either fix or lessen the affect.

1: make the terrain under your field GRASS (not rock or grassy rock)
2. Make sure that the ground is at sea level, this causes wierd problems. raise EVERYTHING at least 50 ft.

I dont kmow if that will fix it for ya but with the grass under the field ya can still takeoff and land without crashing. It might fix it totally.  good luck
