Stick stirring
« on: February 12, 2020, 08:07:50 PM »
Is  it considered stick stirring if I gently rock my wings when someone is on my 6 at 600-800+ range? like 3-8 degrees. I rock the wings whenever i look over my shoulder and see cannon flashes.

Let's be honest, it's a valid defence in AH and should be used when necessary. How frustrating it may be for your opponent. It's in the game and is no rule against. If it was possible in RL it would be used there as well when your in a nasty situation.

Stay away from HO's though it's bad for your skill and not very manly :airplane:

THIS!!! One persons Jink is another persons "Stick Stir"! IMHO, this is the same as the OL'e Ho Tard! Its a VALID TACTIC! Although with "Stick Stirring", LAG can be the Culprit more than actual "Stirring"! Guessing you killed a "Honcho" or didnt let  a "Honcho" get an otherwise easy kill? Ignore the haters,my Brother! I have flown with and against you...you are an SOLID STICK! Seems that the Player Base is a bunch of Irritable old folk! Hos are 50/50 at best...so Hell YES...Dutchy nailed it! Ho shooters are only capable of getting "Lucky" in the Red Light District of Amsterdam :rofl Sure...you may get the kill...but it could also be an pain in the??????????? LOL I live by the AH3 Golden Rule...Ho unto others as they Ho unto you...and Ho first lest ye be hoed! I may not maneuver for the ho,per say....but if you are in range AND in my Gun Sight, I will open fire! If for nothing more than getting you to peel off! Love ya Dutchy

I always thought stick stirring was when you yanked the stick around enough that graphics couldn't keep up with you and produced the "flip flop" stuff. Anything else was maneuvering to avoid getting hit.

Me too.  To be honest, I can't recall the last time I saw something that I would describe as "flip flop".  The one I tend to see is the negative G rolling, but it doesn't happen quickly.  Is that what people are referring to when they talk about the "flip flop"?

Was in my case! I figure it was same for Svaal, but note sure. He does a little roll, then pushes Neg G..so I figure someone got fooled. Especially if low in the trees and I run into Svaal when he is low.  :aok I have seen it up close, its just a difference in graphics settings..if I had to guess. He is dodging trees that my computer hasnt rendered yet.  Seems dodging trees looks like a stirring maneuver  :x   Then again,it may have been someone running out of ammo...so had to be stick stirring :rofl I find his low Ta 152 and its roll rate, way to often for my liking..but it IS FUN :salute

Thanks all. I do know of a certain Rook player that likes to jank his stick like described above. Might report him sometime, just didn't want to seem as a hypocrit. I know sometimes i get lucky when I'm in certain planes and my wing stalls out entering a spin and it flips (I think 190A8 is "good" at this) and that might seem like I'm stick stirring.

Not if you've got a center mounted 37mm cannon.

No point in reporting him. Technically it isnt against the rules, it is just a lame way to avoid a fight.

Haven't really seen much "stick stirring" anymore of the rotating on a stick 190 yak3 varaity. Come to think about it, haven't seen any krupinski tumbling either.
