I was happy with what we had. Would like an option to go back 2 the old system. I definitely don't wanna add another tab to clutter the screen. There is an old Italian saying when something is not broke don't fix it. :old:
really unhappy with this new change

add another tab and drag it out to have two text windows open across the bottom of the screen. Piece of cake

For some of us without mega-size monitors screen real estate is a valuable commodity. Don't want to waste any of it on bogus text "messages". A simple toggle option to set it back to the way it was is my vote.

Using the tilde key you can toggle between two message window modes.  I have it set up for one mode to show 6 lines of the 'system' messages in one window and 6 lines of 'all' other messages in another.  My second mode is a single window with 4 lines of the 'all' messages (no 'system' messages at all).  I have the message mode toggle mapped to a button on my stick.

So, I can quickly switch between modes to see -- or hide -- 'system' messages (along with the new kill messages).  Works pretty well, but when not watching the 'system' messages I will miss 'soandso landed X victories in a Jeep' and miss sending a 'WTG'.

So, I think the added kill messages do create a sense of action, but also might detract from the sense of community by interfering with friendly 'country' channel messaging.

Heaven help a newb trying to ask questions on the 'help' channel.   :O

Is there a way to fix a tab were you get messages like the war has been won ( of course when you get sent back to desk top you will know), or what field has been captured.
I have two tabs and it is still unsatisfactory. I have tried this for a couple of days and I vote for going back to the old way.

Individuals post when the war is won and when your team captures a base. Even if you do not see the system.

I concur, The everybody killed everybody is making the text buffer way to busy. I see it as possibly adding a humiliation factor to the new player experience also. They are invariabley going to be frustrated with the steep learning curve and then to repeatedly be announced as a loser. Just say'n.

Ironic then that it was that way for years and years during the largest growth period of the game.

Been hear since  AH started but gave it up when it went to AH3. Came back last year.... never remember this in any earlier version of the game. Must have been in the early AH3 phase. It is still a major distraction ans at least should have the option to turn it off. IMHO

Well then I concede your point. it is still a pain in the ASS

An On/OFF option for the "you killed me" in the text buffer dialog box would be nice. As it stands, if I turn off "system", I would miss important "Host" announcements like who won the war or the arena will reset in..... etc

I really don’t buy the loss of info excuse.
I doubt players are desperately watching the text buffer for field capture messages.

I think it is more the loss of anonymous death.

I have been here nearly nine years and I don't remember it that way, the way the message board is now.

Yes it was just turned back on. It was turned off when our numbers grew beyond a certain point.

Well the long term regulars might see it that way. The new blood if there is to be any, wont appreciate it. But if HT is just subsidizing a social club for the 70+ regulars then there we have it.
