As much as someone might want to daydream about AH becoming a FPS or subsim .... it's not gonna be. We have the best WWII fighter plane sim complete with some tanks/vehicles and ship task forces. Other than that, we have auto drunks to capture fields (or not). If you were to write down every element of Aces High, the planes, vehicles, ships, shore batteries, terrain elements, cloud environments, etc. then it might become evident how full and rich this game is with an amazingly small and talented staff to support it. :)

(Besides - this is a 'wish list' item.) ;)

Meh.  All the same arguments were made when the first tanks were added.  Yet they were added.  The world didn't end.

No on can know what the future holds, but it's more likely than the Spanish Civil War.

Actually, a Spanish Civil War plane set and terrain are a lot more likely than making AHII a first person shooter or submarine sim. Guess your college critical thinking got in your way there.  :D

I think adding some mobile ground troop AI with anti-tank weapons, anti-air, and small arms would be a great addition and not deviate from the "pilot" or "driver" aspect of the game. It would make you more alert when approaching a town if there is a patrol and give your 7.62 machine gun on a vehicle much more purpose.

Other than AAA, I don't think anti air were available during WWII

Not gonna happen.

And it still stands a better chance.  ;)

Honestly, with your vested interest in the WWI AI arena, you'd think an environment of uber bipes and metal monos (being new and rare) would appeal to you.

Let's see - we got a 109 and an I-16 ... He-111 ....

C'mon, you know you want this.

Yes, you do.   :D

Ground anti-air could range from troops using .30 cal rifles to mobile machine guns to mobile AA guns. Point is that it would be nice to have more dynamics when taking over a town than just doing the same routine over and over on the same town model with the same gun positions.

Oh man, are you confused. Dale will try what Dale will try. AAMOF, he's tried already.

I have created an entire new game last year wanting to try out some ideas, and even for free it failed miserably.

I just know what he's tried that worked .... and worked quite well. If he had either a FPS or sub sim that could compete with games that were designed specifically to be one or the other we'd have seen a hint from him about it. Our shared daydreams are nice and all (we all share them in the wish list) but he picks and chooses what to pursue. I accept that better than you seem to realize. :)

I listen to all the suggestions, whines. squeakes, good ideas, and selfish requests, but only I can make the choices if anything any player post is good or bad, will be or won't be implemented or changed. What I just stated is not arrogance it is simply the way the world works. Some one needs to make the choices, and I'm the one responsible to do so. But players like you will always like some things and not like others. They will only squeak about the few things they don't like and not realize the 1000's of things they do like all were choices made by the same guy.
