Sigh, off to the surgery ward again
« on: February 27, 2020, 10:03:23 AM »
Seems I can't get away from the Dr's. This getting old stuff ain't for the weak. I've got a couple trigger fingers. Today they will be working on the right hand one. The left hand one has yet to be scheduled. Sometime later I'll have to have some work done on the base of my left thumb. I've worn away all the cartilage there and the bone to bone contact isn't pleasant. I'm getting real tired of Dr's and stuff after 13 surgeries to date. Catch ya all later.

I hope you're getting a volume discount.  ;)

Growing old sucks.  Just remember it beats the alternative. Just think of all the young boys on Omaha beach that would have been glad to get the chance to get old and deal with doctors.

Good luck!  :aok

Great perspective CptTrips, I guess having my nerve problems remind me this week why I had to leave the service really isn't all that bad.

Hang in the Mav. After surgery... to show how well they did, you can give the Dr the finger. :)

I'm back. Surgery #14 over. Turns out I am now a very "hard stick". Two nurses and finally the anesthesiologist to get the IV started. My off side hand looks like I had an argument with a porcupine and lost. Got T3's for pain now that novacaine has worn off. Not working real well darnit.

Hoping the pain is short lived.

Yup pain was a short term issue as far as intensity was concerned, I stopped the T-3's after the day of surgery and went to OTC Tylenol. The incision site remains painful to pressure today. Got the stitches out yesterday. Fun stuff as one had kinda dropped below skin level. Required a bit of digging. The bruises I got from the IV sites, they tried at least 7 different locations and were digging for gold in all of them, have started to fade. I also got my next surgery date for the left hand, April 1'st. I thought it would be appropriate, since the first one was actually on our anniversary. Not what I think was really a good time.... At least the wife can't say we didn't go out.....

After consecutive visits for prostate, bladder and gallbladder surgeries I can empathize completely. Only thing I'll add is that although getting old ain't for sissies it still beats the only other option!  :uhoh
