How to neutralize control & trim surfaces
« on: March 02, 2020, 06:50:08 AM »
Not long ago I recall reading somewhere that neutralizing rudder in bombers, prior to calibrating, improves accuracy. What's the keyboard key for that? Similarly, if I disable combat trim and use aileron + elevator trim tabs, is there a keyboard key that neutralizes them...i e zero's out G forces.

The keyboard keys for rudder trim are K and L. You can also use auto level trim to correct any yaw shown by the turn coordinator ball. It's not the rudder you need neutral, you just don't want to point your nose away from the direction of flight.

You don't want 0 G. You want to level bomb at 1 G. Trim just removes forces from the control stick/yoke.

IIRC the key to reset any trimming is X

I've got an older system by today's standards that still runs the game well by my standards.

Good catch, that was a typo. It is J and L.
